Our little boy-man-dude-scamp-monkey-snugglemuffin is growing up.
Soon Jonah will be too big to cuddle and we'll have to make another one.

The dining room table at the Terlingua House had a giant lazy susan on it. It was the perfect size for baby-spinning. The video goes on for hours, but for your viewing pleasure, I cut it down to 37 seconds.

Jonah likes it when he can spend a November afternoon outside. Without a jacket. Without pants. Without a care in world. Just like his dad. Let's hear it for global warming! And White Rock Lake! And fat guys in tank tops!

Jonah is right on track to growing a sweet mullet. Our pediatrician says he's in the 95th percentile for mulletude.

This is a photograph of our son Jonah wearing an orange bodysuit and a bib that has the word "Boo" embroidered on it. He is sitting on a Bumbo® chair. (When he is sitting in the chair, we are always careful not to leave him unattended or to place the chair on an elevated surface.) To his right is a pumpkin that his father carved in the classic "jack-o-lantern"-style. To his left is a pumpkin carved by his mother, created to look like a cat. Later that night, children came to our door wearing disguises. They asked for candy. Heather, who had prepared for these visitors, gladly obliged their wishes.

Stomp your feet! Clap your hands! Everybody get ready for the Big Pants Dance!

Awesome. That's my new favorite word to describe him. I think using the word "awesome" is awesome. Like totally.

Four Months

That's right. It's been four months since we've paid a lick of attention to Murphy.



Maybe if Murphy learned to giggle or blow spit bubbles or let us dress him up in clever onesies we would spend more time with him.

But don't worry about Murphy. We just put an order in at the King Ranch Saddle Shop for a dog saddle.

In a couple of months, it'll be rodeo time!! Kaaa!

The Great Outdoors

Jonah went on his first hike this afternoon. He managed to avoid the chiggers and poison ivy. That's because I held him up in the air like this for 17 miles.

Dude. You. Are. Blowing. My. Freaking. Mind.

When Jonah last went to his Grandma's house, we showed him a picture of Baby Omar.

He gets the same look when we show him video of himself.

And also when he's pooping.

Three months old

He may not sleep through the night yet, but at least he looks cute while we drowsily try to rock him to sleep at 4 a.m. Is "drowsily" even a word?

It's a little far away, but the curriculum is very impressive.

We're slowly introducing pants into Jonah's world.

Who knows. Maybe one day we'll get him some shoes.

To make it easier to get in and out of tight parking spaces with our giant car seat, we're going to get these installed on the family car. I've got a call in to X-to-the-Z, Xzibit and West Coast Customs. It's going to be P.I.M.P.

Jonah enjoyed his first roadtrip to Houston. Which should be no surprise since his favorite rapper is H-Town's very own Chamillionaire. Jonah likes that song about ridin' dirty. It really speaks to him.

We should really get around to buying those electric outlet covers.

Jonah had his two week checkup today. He's grown an inch and has gained a pound. At this rate, when he's 10, he will be 40 feet tall and will weigh 240 pounds. I may be off on those numbers. I was never too good with the math.
