B.O.B.

B.O.B. It's a great OutKast song.

And hopefully a great stroller. The hippo seems to like it.

Hooray for Aunt Amy and Auntie Kristie

If we sell these for $25,000 a piece, I think we can get the first semester of college paid for.

Our Little Blank Canvas

We recently watched the documentary Jesus Camp.

It’s a frightening reminder of how moldable a child’s brain is.

Which is great for us because we’re going to have one soon!

In 14 weeks, the molding shall begin.

Here are a few Onesie ideas we’d like for someone to design for our human billboard precious child:

Free-Range Infant

Lil’ Evildoer

I suck. But not as much as George W.

Not dependent on foreign-milk.

Quit looking at me.

I miss my womb.

Global warming gives me gas.

Ask me about my 529 plan.

Names under consideration

We had to remind ourselves that his or her name has to work forever:

When we're gently whispering it to a tiny infant.
When we're firmly enunciating it to an unruly toddler.
When we're screaming his or her name as he or she scores the winning touchdown or soccer goal.
When we're incoherently babbling it from our nursing home beds.

Basically, we understand the awesome responsibility of giving another human a name.

So here's our current shortlist:

Cannonball

Wildcat

JoJo

Peanut

Wolverine

Chevrolet

Steamboat

In three months, the winning name will be revealed......

Infant Care for Dummies

Last Saturday we took Infant CPR and Basics of Baby Care at Presby. We didn't get graded, but we're pretty sure we would have been given at least an A-. We didn't drop the fake baby once.

The purpose of the class was basically to remind us of all the things we still need to do:

• Dip-tet boosters (so the kid doesn't get lockjaw or night vision)
• Find a pediatrician
• Bank accounts for orthidonture and university
• Life insurance (in case we get run over by a truck or get carried off by a twister)

The list goes on and on and on. But don't worry. We wrote most of it down.

Swedish Hippos

Grandma Angie (Perhaps Grangie?) came up for a visit this past weekend. We went to a cool jazz club and the Dallas Arboretum and a bunch of other places. But most importantly, we went to IKEA, where she generously bought some furniture for the nursery. So now we don't have to keep our child's clothes in little piles on the floor.

She also got us this hippo.

What if our kid turns out to be a baby hippo? (And we're not speaking metaphorically.)

That would be awesome.

We found a daycare center

It's close to home.

There's a giant pit bull next door.

They have a battlescarred cat named Bacon.

They usually have several roaring fires going.

Tecate and Schlitz are only $2.

It's perfect.
